The Art of Surrender

How good are you at the art of the surrender?

Consensus says 2017 was challenging for MOST of us in one way or another. 

Yes collectively we felt it. And each of us individually have been given BIG opportunities to peel away one more -or 100 more- layers of conditioning to unleash our true nature, purpose and potential. We are 'seeing' more clearly. 

For me, 2017 was HARD. It was the year I learned how to FULLY SURRENDER.

It's the year I woke up and realized, this is it. This is life. It's not something in the future. Life isn't waiting to happen when XYZ is satisfied. It's now. This feeling is deeper than words. It's a physical phenomenon that happens around this age. You feel me? Forty Three?

For me, this year was a peeling away of ALL the dogma and online shananagins.  2017 Was a year of peeling back anything that was NOT my truth and finding alignment to what is. It has not been comfortable. It's still not comfortable. 

I call it the LIFETIME INQUIRY. And the more committed to personal mastery the more we realize the INQUIRY is forever ongoing.

For the past few years I've struggled to integrate my parts. What does it look like to fully show up as the real me? I even created a program 'UNLEASH THE REAL YOU' and last year enjoyed taking many through the journey. 

If you did this or another journey and found a point of arrival, please feel heartened if a point comes again where you're not so sure. It's part of the evolution when you're evolving quickly. Our lifestyle begins to involve a team of support for our personal (call it professional if you will) evolution - proactively.

We're all so different. 

For some our career or profession is a straight shot -one career or at least one area of total expertise. For others its windy but still a line. For others it's not linear at all. And then there are those for whom their dharma (purpose) is to find their purpose which means when they find it the dial moves and off they go again in search. 

The latter is me. (Precisely why I'm an expert at helping others align with their purpose!) It's in my astrology and my GOD sent astrologer and spiritual teacher Tim for years has helped me understand how to surrender to my blue print. What's my groove? I'd find it, then it slips away. Found it then it morphs again. So what does one do? One surrenders. 

You see the good news is for those of you who feel me and are saying "OMG that's me" -is that as hard of a WOW is the struggle, the equal WOW of success/joy you will experience when divine (and astro) timing hit and it's your turn to integrate. 

So HOW do you LOVE and ENJOY and THRIVE in the journey until it's your time? You master the art of surrender, dive deep in the inquiry and move impediments to speed up the arrival.

When we master the art of surrender taking action to move our dreams forward no longer comes from what the outside world is telling us we should do. It's coming from an internal pulse and alignment. I don't mean surrender on your couch and don't move (though some times may call for this), I mean surrender as a way of being and moving in the world. 

We all agree this was the year we were collectively pushed to challenge our assumptions. This year the underbelly of the dark side was flipped inside out. This year was the year we could no longer hide our own inner darkness, our own shadow, and continue to numb the discomfort. 

This year is only the beginning yet this year was our opportunity to grow the muscle we'll need to thrive in an ever evolving world of alignment and truth. This is what I've been writing about. Though my book will be published in later part of 2019, I am grateful for the truth aligning in me as I write this. 

You know, as a coach, as a perfectionist, as an attorney, as a professional with so many interests and skills, as a healer, as an activist with deep caring, as a medicine woman, and as an entrepreneur I came to admit to myself that I wear a lot of masks. I pretend to have it all together. I pretend to have it figured out. It's exhausting. 

I'm not there yet. I'm still operating on several separate channels and perhaps these channels will integrate at some point in the future. In the meantime...

==> Here's what I learned about surrendering.

Surrendering means letting go of control or directing or setting goals and truly letting go of what you believe you know about what you know. Surrendering means truly falling into grace and what you don't know you don't know. 

In my surrender I have opened up to new insights about myself, the world, the things I thought I knew and the things I didn't know I didn't know. I don't just mean -ah new insight- I mean deeply diving into traumas of my past, being willing to heal and transform old patterns and habits- but first look at and see- recognize and acknowledge them -and FEEL what needed to be felt in order for it to be undone. 

In my surrender I have unlocked new levels of consciousness - not attained by meditating (per se) for 4 hours a day- (some believe that is how you evolve) Evolution is the deep dive to meet your soul and know your self on a different level, to know who walks beside you at all times and to truly know the context of your existence. We must find it for ourselves. I didn't go alone.

It's in this surrender you totally let go of resistance. You allow your Soul to come front and center and the grace of Spirit/God or your higher power to gently guide your way. It's here the most beautiful of beauties is given permission to appear.
