![]() We always win with conscious communications. It's what real influence is all about. If you're watching the news, headlines or are part of the fray in the United States, you may be as stunned as me. There is an undeniable friction and toxic spill in the collective consciousness. To sum it up, we're watching the integrity of our highest Court be smeared with the psychic trauma of women that hangs heavy right now-- from the fog of a very real present and very long history. Here's what we ALL (men and women) can do in an effort to clean up the spill and thrive in our own purpose driven mission - because we must all continue with our goodness with even more voracity than before. Let's look at 'CONSCIOUSNESS' for a minute. Wisdom is the beautiful underpinning of consciousness. Conscious leadership, conscious communications, conscious anything comes with an awareness of the whole. It comes with a deep inner connection to something bigger than 'me' and it recognizes and acknowledges the impact of every word and every ounce of energy in our presence. I work with all different types of people in various business environments, NGOs to politics to entrepreneurs, to c-suite leaders and boards, as well as folks with a vision to do their own purpose driven dream and the biggest driver of success - and impact- is not an ego driven quest for money or power. It's a deep desire for wisdom. Wisdom? When we taste the icing of wisdom we know that's where the fountain of prosperity is, the epic undercurrent that feeds us the right words to use in the right moment, for the right positioning for the right partnerships for the right action. Yes we all have needs and sometimes it's money to pay the bills, other times it's to get out of a toxic environment or make a change and our first inclination is survival. And it's in these moments when our commitment is to serve something greater, our mission, our caring desire to change something outside of ourselves, that the prosperity comes, the wins roll in, and the opportunities align. Our world is changing fast. While the toxic spill in the US government (this is factual not partisan) is running rampant, we do have some amazing humans holding wisdom and conscious ground. While we do have environmental and human rights devastation and health and education inequality, we do have an incredible force unleashing for good in this world - on a scale we have never seen before. We must all harness our conscious words and intentions to focus on good, create our impact from right where we are and choose to elevate the conversation. Our anger and frustration will not sell (oh do i know this one well -humble bow). Our desperation can only win if channeled to solve the problem, not your problem. I had the honor to hear Dr. Jim Yong Kim, President of the World Bank Group speak at a luncheon last week hosted by Royal DSM. He has changed the direction of the World Bank in an admirable way. Wisdom and intelligence are different things. This leader has both. He said what changed the way their organization approached finance in the urgent face of climate change and a commitment to achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals was this little huge idea: "Stop trying to solve your problem and start solving THE problem" So I leave this with you today... As we go through this week, with our business goals, to do list, frustrations and anger at a world gone mad, and lots of little challenges that come along the way- step back, close your eyes and pause. Discern your problem and THE problem and ponder how your problem will actually be solved if you aim to solve THE problem. I wrote this piece on LinkedIn about our Supreme Court Justice and *Kavanaugh debacle. My problem is perhaps that I have a story from high school too. #metoo THE problem is environmental, social and governance justice in the US and the integrity of the Supreme Court. It's short, you can read it here and I'd love if you comment and share your thoughts. Conscious Communications Instead PS. I shared part of this on Facebook and here's what someone said... "Really Stephanie? If someone accuses you with no corroboration and you absolutely don’t remember doing it you’d say I guess there’s some chance I did it? Really? You’d do that? I wouldn’t." I invite you to read the LinkedIn article and answer for yourself - in this situation- how would we use conscious communications instead? We always win with conscious communications. Always. It's what real influence is all about. Have purpose driven mission that needs a boost? Need some winning with conscious communications? Let's talk -Click Here ![]() Stephanie Trager, Esq.
